STAN SEBASTIAN STORY
1964 WRESTLING
THE FEARSOME THREESOME
Stan Sebastian, Reggie Williams, and Tony Karcich all wrestled as seniors in 1964 and placed second in the state finals. Stan came closest to gold when he was leading in overtime by an escape point, but they wrestled a full two minute period in overtime in 1964 and Stan, rather than sitting on the lead, tried to take his opponent down to his back, and lost his balance and got pinned. The loss was Stan's first and only one that year. He finished his H.H.S. record with 46 wins and only 4 losses. Reggie Williams and Tony Karcich both lost in the finals by the same score and by only one point, 4-3.
After Hackensack High School, Stan Sebastian went to Rutgers University on a wrestling scholarship and graduated in 1968 with a Business Degree. He entered the service during the Vietnam War, after college and received two Bronze Stars during his service in 1969-1970. After returning from Vietnam, Stan Sebastian went to Columbia University, where he received his Masters degree. He has worked as a health care administrator for the past twenty years withSaint Clare's health services, as of the year 2007.
